My name is Kay. I love the idea of being in an Internet community. If you are one of my "neighbors" I look forward to hearing from you. I am working on making this a pleasant place to visit.

I have been spending way too much time working on my family's pages (my youngest son, Casey, and husband, Charlie, got new homes in Geocities, plus we all have pages at AOL) so I have to cool it a bit. I need to get out to my garden and get it ready to plant winter veggies. I've been putting that off since it has been so stinkin' hot here in Southern California! With this "El Nino" thing I better get things growing or my seeds will end up in the wash at the bottom of the hill. I will have to go down there to harvest!

The weather finally changed--thank God! One day we have high heat and the next it's fall weather! I've been attacking my garden and am making headway. I have started getting set up to work on making Christmas presents. Since I am not working (let me rephrase that--since I am not bringing in any money) I am saving us some money by making a lot of the presents. I am trying some new things this year, as well as old. Maybe after Christmas I will set up an "ideas" page for you crafty and/or thrifty folk! That's all for now--check out this week's Bible Study!

Well, I got my garden squared away. Actually, that is only a temporary thing since gardens have a mind of their own.

I have started making Christmas presents. Since I am not working (let me rephrase that--since I am not bringing in any money) I am saving us some money by making a lot of the presents. I am trying some new things this year, as well as old. Maybe after Christmas I will set up an "ideas" page for you crafty and/or thrifty folk!

I am going to try to start making some Christmas cookies that I can freeze. I usually end up in a cookie-baking-frenzy the second week of December. My husband, Charlie, is a teacher and gives cookies to the administration and friends. (Nice of him, don't ya think?) We also give cookies to our neighbors. It's not fun when you are pulling a cookie sheet out of the oven with one hand, dropping dough on another with your other hand, mixing dough with your other hand, and pulling more ingredients out of the cupboard with your other hand. It's not a pretty picture!

Please lift me up in your prayers. I have been having a few struggles lately and a slight depression has been nipping at my heels. I always have some difficulty this time of year. My husband is a high school football coach and isn't home very much. That makes me a single parent.

Plus I have other things that I'm not free to share right now that are pulling on me. I am trying to lift my eyes and heart heavenward. I really have no idea how people who don't know God's love can even bear to get out of bed in the morning! Now that would be depressing!!! Check out this week's Bible Study. It is ministering to me; I pray it ministers to you!
