Hello!! Did you miss me? I took my computer in for an upgrade right after Christmas and had no idea the problems I would encounter getting everything put back together! I had to reformat my brand new 5.1 Gig drive twice to get rid of bad stuff. The first time was my fault. I inadvertently copied some things to the new drive that messed up the important parts of Windows 95. Reformat #1. . .

Then Battle Beast took hold of my computer! Casey had a cheap game that we had already minimally installed on the other drive and had had no problems. I gave it the maximum install this time (having lots of room now!) and when I was fixing all the shortcuts in the start menu I found it. . .it had attached itself to the game folder. There were files that said they were 3 million MG and were last modified in the year '09. They were taking up almost all the rest of my new drive!

When I tried to delete them it said THEY COULD NOT BE FOUND! The names of the files were miles long and contained symbols and pictures as well as letters and numbers. I tried everything. I moved them to the temp file out of the start menu file. I found a re-created list of all my files in my drive in one of them. That was the only thing in there that was readable. Well, while working on them I froze up and had to reboot. Once again, I couldn't get into Windows. I tried everything short of reformatting. Everyone I talked to had never heard of such a thing! ARGH!!! Reformat #2. . . .

In the meantime, everyone needed to have things typed on the computer don't ya know! I still don't have everything running smoothly. I get surprises now and then. The sad part is that I have bizarre things happen to me a lot. I took my video camera in to get it fixed. One week turnaround the yellow page ad said. . .they closed their doors and went on a three month vacation with my camera locked inside, in pieces. I took my WWII era 400-day clock in to a reputable clock shop. 2 1/2 years later it still hadn't been fixed. I could go on and on. This week's Bible study is of comfort to me. I pray it minister to you as well.

I finally got my Christmas decorations put away last night. I got sick right after Christmas and still haven't completely shaken it. We're having some strange, long-lasting flu viruses here in Southern California.

Then my house needed a thorough overhaul after the boys left. I have to spend time with my dogs playing a game called, "Keep Them Separated." My new dog, the stray we took in this summer, bit the gas meter reader. Someone didn't put the lock back on the side gate (I'm not naming names, but it's the male I married) and the gate flew open and you can guess the rest. He's quarantined for 10 days.

Then I spent at least 40 hours this past week working on my computer. Anyway, I finally got the decorations put away. The floor looks beautiful. There are sparkly things everywhere from the decorations. You know what I'll be doing today. ;-)
