A Devotional

REFLECTION OF HIS GLORY
In the presence of Your beauty I view the reflection You see of me.  My tongue always praises You.  Lord, You bring the glory of communion and inspiration to the motive of everything I place my hand upon through Your fruit of the Spirit in my daily walk.

SCRIPTURE REFERENCES
"Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name."  Ps 103:1

"O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph."  Ps 47:1

"And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses."  Mark 11:25

"But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us."
2 Corinthians 4:7

We are ambassadors therefore on behalf of Christ, as though God were entreating us.

"Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God."  2Cor 5:20

We beseech you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

I long to share the glorious "Good News" of SALVATION IN CHRIST.

We want to know the PEACE OF GOD which passes all understanding.

"And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."  Phil 4:7

THOUGHTS
Read Colossians 3:1-17 (written out for you below) over and over and over, until the Lord ministers to you.  We can look to no one but Him in our times of need.  We can pray for the Lord to be with people and send others into their lives to minister to them and to lead them to a forgiving Father.

1: If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
2: Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
3: For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
4: When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
5: Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
6: For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:
7: In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.
8: But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
9: Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
10: And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
11: Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.
12: Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
13: Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
14: And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
15: And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
16: Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
17: And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

PRAYER
  • Lord Jesus, my Savior, I have been crucified with you.  Teach me now to live my new life with You.
  • Take my life and make it new.
  • Help me to take every thought captive.
  • I cast everything aside that that hinders and the sin that entangles.
  • Let my heart be the realm of Your peace.
  • Let Your Word reside in my heart.
  • Help me to become what I am in Your eyes, a reflection of Your glory.

APPLICATION
As an act of obedience and worship, I leave all bitterness and resentment at Your altar.

By the help of the Your Holy Spirit, I will pour forgiveness on everyone who has deceived, defrauded, or defamed me. Why should I allow the past to hurt me further by creating a rift between my spirit and Yours? Freely, I release my antagonists and I release myself into Your forgiveness, Lord.  I relinquish all my hurts for You to heal.
