Let go and let God
or, better yet:
LET GO AND LET GOD!!!!!

Let's establish a few facts before we take off on our journey of faith. The main thing we need to keep in our minds is that God is GOD! He took nothing and made the universe (Gen 1). He is GOD! He created humans out of the dust of the earth (Gen 2:7). He is GOD! He has always been God and He always will be God. He NEVER changes (Mal 3:6, Jms 1:17).

God made an iron axe head float on water(2Ki 6:6). God caused the Red Sea to move back to either side and created dry ground through the sea (Ex 14:21). God caused the sun to move in the sky, or caused the earth to rotate ten degrees one way and then back again(2Ki 20:9-11). God caused the daylight to remain an extra day (Josh 10:13). He caused five loaves of bread and two fish to be enough to feed over 5,000 people with food left over (Matt 14:19-21). People were raised from the dead (2Ki 4:34-35, Matt 9:18-25, Jo 11:41-44, Acts 20:9-10).

Those are just a few examples of things that God has done that, if we witnessed them today, would be deemed miracles. Now you have a choice to make. Do you believe that God did these things or don't you? You have to make a FIRM stand if you do believe that those things happened. If you choose not to believe then you need to get on a one-to-one with God and ask Him to prove Himself to you. If you want to believe some things from the Bible and not others then you are making God a liar and your entire relationship with Him has been compromised.

From this point on I am going to speak to you as someone who has it firmly implanted in their mind that God actually made time stand still, made a non-floatable item float, and did the other physics-defying things happen that we discussed already.

Now, this doesn't mean you need to understand how they happened. You just need to believe that they did happen. It isn't our job to understand the hows of the matters of God. That is His concern. We just need to keep our minds open to the fact that He does do things that don't fit into what we perceive to be the laws of physics and He does things that seem impossible in our human minds. There are a couple of scriptures that might help you to clear your own "knowledge" and opinions out of your head.

"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding."
Proverbs 3:5

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD."
Isaiah 55:8

Let's refresh our memories with something that was mentioned in the first paragraph. God NEVER changes. Let's actually look at those scriptures.

"For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed."
Malachi 3:6

"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning."
James 1:17

We have to empty our minds of any hindrances that will prevent us from accepting the fact that God can and will do miracles today. He is not different that He was in the Bible. He is not withholding Himself from us. He needs us to be able to believe Him. Did you read the examples of miracles mentioned above? If you did, you might have noticed that, in each one, there was somebody there that believed that the miracle would take place and expected it to happen.

Unbelief can prevent you from experiencing the things that God wants to do. Take a look at what the Bible says about unbelief.

"And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief."
Matthew 13:58

"Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you."
Matthew 17:19-20

All our lives we have been taught and have experienced things such as gravity. We have firmly implanted in our brains that gravity will cause everything to fall to the earth unless the object has sufficient force to hurl it away from the earth. Then, unless the object was hurled completely out of the earth's gravitational pull, it will eventually fall back to the earth. We have been taught that there are no exceptions to that rule of gravity.

GOD IS NOT RULED BY THE LAWS OF GRAVITY! God created gravity, but He is NOT bound by its influence!! As the creator of gravity, if God chooses, He can make an axe head float to the surface of water instead of sink. Yet, we know from experience that if we put an axe head in water it will sink every single time. It is imperative that we view the "laws" of physics, the "laws" of gravity, and the other "laws" we have learned from life experiences in a whole different light. We need to open our minds to allow God to work. We need to be sensitive to the still, small voice that is God's (1Ki 19:12). If that voice tells us that we need to say something to make an axe head float, then we had better believe it will float as we say it or it just won't float.

In the last scripture in Matthew that we viewed Jesus said, "If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you." Based on everything we've covered so far let's take this statement as 100%, absolute, without a doubt, complete truth. If God created the world, including the mountains, can He move one of the mountains if He chooses?

Since, in all our experiences and in everything we've ever been taught we've never heard of a mountain moving from one place to another we tend to set it firmly in our brains that mountains are solid, immovable objects. I used to view the statement about moving a mountain as an exaggeration to help us to have enough faith for smaller miraculous things.

Now, lets do a little examination which might help our poor little human brains comprehend a little about the things of God. Is a mountain a solid object? Are there any solid objects in the whole earth? The answer is no. Everything is made up of atoms. I repeat, EVERYTHING is made up of atoms. Everything on earth, including the earth and including air, is made up of the exact same substance. . . atoms.

Have you ever seen the show or the movie Star Trek? They had a transporter that disassembled the atoms of a person, transported the atoms through space, and reassembled that person at their final destination. That might help you picture things as not being solid. Keeping that in mind let's picture a person walking toward a brick wall. Remembering that both the person and the wall are entirely made up of atoms, what if God lined up all the atoms in the person and in the wall in such a way that the person could pass right through the wall?

Now, going back to that mountain Jesus mentioned, how hard would it be for God to disassemble the atoms of the mountain, reconfiguring the atoms to become air or clouds, and reassembling the atoms back into a mountain somewhere else? Let's not look at mountains the same any more. Let's not look at anything the same any more.

On a smaller scale, how difficult is it for God to disassemble cancer cells and reassemble them as regular body cells? Perhaps God caused the axe head's atoms to move farther apart to cause it to float. That's just a guess, but that might be what happened. Let's stop looking at things in the same old way. Let's allow God to control what we believe to be fact. When you read your Bible be looking for those things that God has done. Also be looking for those things He wants to do. Find out more about His ways. Get to know more about His heart and His mind. Keep seeking. Get closer to Him. Seek His face. Pray that your heart beat with the things that are important to Him.

"But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned."
1Cor 2:9-14

Do you have to accept the fact that humans have no control over the weather? Jesus controlled the wind (Ex 14:21) and later on He said, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father" (Jo 14:12). Humans were told to subdue the earth (Gen 1:28). Does God want you commanding the rain to fall or to stop falling? Did He give you the authority to tell a hurricane to dissipate? Ask Him.

What things does God want to be doing through you? What mountains does He want moved? What principalities and powers does He want removed? What miracles does He want to perform through you? Do you ever pray the Lord's prayer? Do you say the part, "Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven?" You're telling Him you want His will done here on earth, but are you willing to be a useable vessel that will allow His will to be done through you?

You must allow God to teach you what to believe and what to expect. We have learned almost everything we know from people and from our own life's experiences. When we were in school we probably accepted every word that came out of our teachers' mouths and out of our textbooks as factual. We have to discard many of the things we learned and relearn them in a new way, a spiritual way. Let the Holy Spirit teach you.

"But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him."
1John 2:27

Get closer to Him. Learn to hear His voice. If you want to do some further studies on hearing God's voice then I have put together a few that might help.
My Prayer Closet  ---  Why Can't You Hear God?

Expect Him to do the unexpected. Don't look at anything in the same old way. Look at things through God's eyes. Don't accept anything as fact unless it is verified by God. He can use you if you are willing to
